I crossed this hotel in Mexico off my bucket list!

Okay guys, I just got back from Todo Santos where I stayed at the incredible Paradero Hotel. Truly a bucket list hotel!! Ever since I saw images of it on Instagram, I knew I had to visit. After reading a few bad reviews online, I was a bit weary as the price tag definitely is not cheap - think $500-$900 a night. Looking deeper at the reviews, I noticed the type of traveler leaving the below average reviews: someone looking for a 5 star beach vacation. Many of them pointed out the flies on the property. WELL DUH, you’re in the dessert in Mexico. A few flies are to be expected haha! It definitely wasn’t an issue for us though. This property is geared towards experience driven travelers. Those who value experiences, architecture and aesthetic. And sure, for the price tag, the service could have been a touch better, although it definitely wasn’t bad by any means and all the staff was incredibly friendly.

The property seamlessly blends into the surrounding environment and it’s brutalist modern architecture is outer-worldly. The property is also surrounded by their gardens and farm, so most of the food is locally sourced and grown onsite. I’ve truly have never visited a place as unique as Paradero.

There are 4 different room types you can choose from, all which are indoor / outdoor style. I stayed in the sky view room as I really wanted the sky net to stargaze at night. I highly recommend!!

The highlights of my stay were definitely their incredibly unique pool where I sipped on so many mezcal margaritas. Their La Santa cocktail with mezcal, hoja santa, green apple, corn dough and chili oil was next level as well. The food highlights for me were the chocolate clams (incredible!!), their soft shell crab taco (the octopus one was amazing too), the raw fish tostada and their short rib with potato salad, black garlic demi-glaze and grilled onion.

Overall, I had such a memorable stay and would definitely visit again. My wallet is definitely a little lighter post stay, but I don’t regret going by any means. If you’re the type of traveler looking for something unique, beautiful and don’t mind splurging a bit, this property is for you! If you want a classic 5 star beach vacation and penny pinch, I’d steer clear and head to Villa Santa Cruz or Hotel San Cristóbal nearby.
