This new hotel in Upstate NY needs to be on your travel bucket list!

The common areas at The Henson
Hey everyone! I recently got back from a little trip Upstate and had such an incredible time! Every time I visit, I’m reminded how gorgeous New York State is and how accessible it is from the city. I stayed at the newly opened and incredibly gorgeous hotel, The Henson, which is such a fantastic addition to the area and a hotel you definitely need to book ASAP before it blows up! The restaurant at the hotel, Matilda, is also from the chef/owners of Contra and Wildair and is, in my opinion, probably one of the best restaurants Upstate right now - think wood grilled oysters with bone marrow and pumpkin seed oil, duck with hibiscus, bok choy, beets and cherries + so many more incredible and creative dishes!
Things to do in the area:

Left: Colgate Lake, Middle: Weiss Ferments, Right: Matilda at The Henson
Visit Colgate Lake! This lake is 15 minutes away from the property and is such a dream! We spent the whole afternoon here sitting out in the sun, swimming and eating provisions we picked up from Paracasa right next door to The Henson!
Visit Weiss Ferments! This family owned beer garden and bakery is absolutely magical! It has some of the best bread I’ve ever had. Erica, the brewer, comes from Eleven Madison Park so you know the brews are incredible! If you don’t go here, I’ll be so disappointed with you! haha!
Breakfast at Day June!
Hike Kaaterskill Falls - this hike is about 20 minutes from The Henson! You can swim here too!
Visit Gardenheir - a super cute and chic gardening store!
Ski Windham or Hunter Mountain in the winter! The Henson is 5 minutes from Windham and about 15 from Hunter Mountain!
On your way back to the city, stop by Phoenicia Diner for breakfast or lunch!

And that’s it! There’s so much more to explore but hopefully this give you a great start in planning your trip - here’s a little vlog I did on the trip too! <3
