The perfect trip for the adventurous traveler that also wants to relax...
Hi guys!
When you typically think of vacation you probably think of sitting on a beach sipping a delicious cocktail (at least I do)… And while that’s obviously amazing, sometimes its worth expanding what you think a vacation is and heading on a more adventurous trip!
It can be super daunting to decide where you want to go - especially with limited vacation days, but I’m starting a new series on this newsletter asking friends and people who inspire me to give us some serious trip envy! First up is my amazing friend Raeann!
Raeann visited the Dolomites last summer and her trip had me SHOOK! I don’t usually get jealous of other people, but her trip made me want to book a ticket to Italy ASAP. Here’s some of her recs + things she wish she knew before heading to this gorgeous region in Italy!

Tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Raeann and I am a just a girl who likes to travel and wear cool clothes. I have been a fashion and lifestyle creator for almost 10 years and have recently shared sharing traveling recommendations for my community. 2 years ago I took a 6-week solo trip to Europe and that trip transformed my confidence. I want to inspire women to try solo travel and learn more about themselves and the world.
Where are we heading?
The Italian Dolomites

Why do you love it and who is this trip for?
This trip is for the adventurous traveler who wants to see some of the most breathtaking scenery while staying active. It is the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation.
Where are we staying? Budget friendly and a splurge!
For part of the trip, you will be doing a hut-to-hut hiking trip so you will be staying at rifugios along the trail. Rifugio Pian Di Cengia was our favorite stop along the way. Their dormitory sleeps 15 hikers and had some of the most incredible food we had the entire trip. After 3 days of hiking you are going to want to relax and indulge in more luxurious accommodations. Berg Hotel has some of the most stunning views of the Sesto Dolomites and has 4 pools, 8 saunas, and an incredible spa where you can unwind after a few days in the mountains.

Where are we eating?
Rifugio Pian Di Cengia was our favorite meal of the trip. The menu is a mix of Tyrolean cuisine and Italian dishes. To get to the Dolomites you fly into Venice so I suggest taking a day to explore the city and stop at Vini Alla Fresca. This little restaurant is nestled in a quiet ally away from the tourist traps and has a simple and delicious menu.
How much did you roughly spend?
About $2k each including flights! We had 3 of us splitting hotel rooms which helped bring down the cost!
What do you wish you knew before booking?
This part of the Dolomoties is located on the Italian-German language barrier so we did not encounter many other travelers who spoke English. Also if you forget any hiking gear they have lots of outdoor shops where you can find what you need before heading up the trail.
